This is a Joyful Sounds-approved recording. The quality is excellent. Kang was on tonight. Good sound and good Kang means 5 stars already.
Remington Ride, always a welcome start, good all-around, especially Kyle. Best Feeling- let's get down to business. I always like Best Feeling because it's one of the most open-ended songs they play; you never know where it's going to go. Kang's mando starts to do some beautiful whining around 8:40, but just wait. This Best Feeling doesn't really go anywhere that noteworthy, except that it segues into St. Thomas, which is awesome and rare. I'll never get to see St. Thomas, and it's a great song. What's that other Sonny Rollins song they do?
High on a Mountaintop is nice, especially with the Remington Ride opener. Nice Water considering its relative earliness. Really high quality sound like this show has always goes well with Water. Impressions has somewhat of a Climb jam starting around 14 minutes, particularly by Kyle. I don't know what Kang is laughing at. Kang's doing other coolness, not much from Billy. Rhythm of the Road is pretty disappointing. Go get 4/23/99 or watch their Winter Carnival DVD for a better one.

Very fun Powderfinger cause we're in Canada and SCI is awesome. Who would expect that one out of all the other choices? Lost begins immediately, but not quite a segue. Lost's segue into Shine is not so interesting.
This Shine is a favorite of mine because of the crying mandolin. The mandolin cries, you will notice it too. In fact, besides all those crazy Shines in early February 2000 (2/10/00, 2/3/00 especially is the best Shine out there, even without that awesome intro), this is right up there on my Shine rankings. It's not just the crying mandolin but everything else about this version is good, chill, and other positive superlatives that I type too often. To be honest the keys part isn't that spectacular, but man that mandolin sends chills down my spine.
It sometimes says they segue into Galactic but they don't really, just some Billy hitting the strings. Lyrics, it's 4/00.
After Galactic they don't really stop playing till the end of the set. Little Hands time... Cool echo during "this canyon was their home," a la 10/29/00. I love Kyle in this one, you can tell from the start right after the last verse that his solo is going to be cool; it's also different from a typical one in a lot of parts. The Billy section - meh. Get 7/4/01 if you want a better Billy Little Hands or a good Billy show. This is also a very, very good fiddle solo. I put this LH in the fringes of top 10 because of the very end of the fiddle solo, as well as one other obvious part (at 11:51). However, the rest of the solo is slightly repetitive or overly typical to move it up to the top spots. Plus Billy isn't so hot in this one.
The 10/25/01 Use Me is better than this Use Me. Interestingly it also comes out of a Little Hands. Obviously that Use Me with JJ Grey from fall 2003 is the best. All Use Me's are pretty fun though. This one gets pretty crazy jamwise towards the end. SOTOTW makes for a nice Remington - Mountaintop - SOTOTW trifecta this show, but there is nothing standoutish about it, except maybe the bass and drums I guess.
The encore is nice and long, so is the group hoot beforehand. Great Kang in Pirates, but he is not astoundingly better than usual or anything. Not too long of an intro in this BOTWP. Kang on vocals. I don't like this jam as much as the others, but with no intro it is slightly longer than most BOTWP tend to be (only by a minute or 2). Still, I'll take a 25-30 minute encore anyday.

I reuploaded this show to the LMA because the original version was misplaced. This is the exact same show as was previously posted on the LMA.
